Provides support to black men and youth and men and youth who identify as black understand their history discuss their present and plan for their future. The discussions and projects generated from each group will be added onto by each new member and service user
Forecast
This service provides service to parents who are in the child welfare system a place to express themselves share their thoughts and feeling all while supporting each other and building connections that will help remove the stigma from being in the system
Lil’ Cutie
A support group for young and experienced more when conversation and supports can take place. There is no child care but children are more than welcome to join in on “what makes a mom a good mom” discussion. registered nurse will be available.
Me to Media
Is a social media group that helps and assists youth learn and develop social media pages. It covers privacy, cyber-bullying and social media etiquette. The group builds on experiential learning and teaches each me2media user how to transition from a basic personal page creator to a business page creator.
Tutoring/Mentoring
This service has provided many of our youth and young adults develop and teach positive behaviours and strategies fr practical everyday situations. They are dedicated to supporting younger children and preteens into becoming one day themselves tutors and mentors in their community and with a once a year offer for our top tutor and mentor to share their skills and abilities internationally
All 4 One
Is a four month program free of cost to assist members of the community we would like support with the child welfare system. The group focuses on everyday issues and concerns and aims to educate and provide solutions to common questions and issues.
Front-line Service-line
Is an interactive and private line where front line workers and facilitators can call to find an outlet and to seek support for self care as they work in the field. The service is free of advice but offers plenty of options when it comes to supports and services that can help bring joy, relaxation and hope to front-line workers. We are the only service in the GTA that provides a companion and friend when you need a verbal stay-cation away from work.
Document and Notary
With the option to get all your documents notarised and letters for any matter crafted and typed for you is also one of the many services we provide to our members and service users. We are dedicated to helping you get the things you need done and also in your budget.
Essentials Drive
Provide basic needs such as food, clothing, and furniture. We request items for individuals and families ages 0-50 years of age such as toys, gifts cards, token, electronics, school items, and holiday items. the items collected during drive are used to assist youth, individuals and families who do not have access to various items.
Abused Women
The abused woman’s program was introduced by the founder in 2012 and become fully launched in 2016. It was birthed by the overwhelming need of women in the community who as professional were experiencing domestic violence in silence. The program provides assistance with housing transition, counseling and community resources. Let’s break the silence.
Youth Programs
Weekly drop-ins and programs for youth at risk. Individual and group workshops and counseling to assist in various areas of a young persons life. Meals are prepared and served during workshops and a follow up counselor stays dedicated to following up with each youth that transitions out of the program.
Housing and Employment
Knowlej is aware of the challenges facing today’s economy and the difficulty finding employment and sustaining housing as a result. Together with our team of volunteers we provide assistance with resumes, job hunting, apartment search as well as essentials resourcing.
